#MyCosmoStyle...A Day at the Cosmopolitan

Friday, December 26, 2014

For my entry into the #MyCosmoStyle Challenge through the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, I thought I would design real outfits that I own for a day time and night time look. I love the idea of designing outfits with every clothing item available on the internet, but I also thought it would be more fun for y'all and for me to see an outfit that I already own styled for a day and night in Las Vegas.
Anyway, here is my day time look. I just assumed that it would be hot in Vegas all the time because it's Vegas, but today it is actually only 45 degrees so any outfit would work. When I am traveling, I always focus on layers with a little pop of color. Then, your outfit isn't boring, but you can mix and match pieces. Also, I am one of those people who is always cold so it is vital for me to have layering options depending on the weather. I love this look because it is neutral and extremely comfortable, but still cute and would be appropriate where ever I went. Also, my bag is perfect for traveling because it is big enough to fit a camera, umbrella, cardigan, or whatever else I would need during the day.

For my evening look I decided to dress it up a little so I could easily go to an upscale restaurant and then visit a casino. I don't have cocktail dresses which means I had to improvise a little, but you can never go wrong with a sequin jacket and cheetah print heels. This outfit would be perfect for a night out because it's extremely comfortable but also elegant and fashionable.
I would love to go to Vegas and show off my outfits and I would love to hear y'all's opinion about what you would wear! XO

Winter Pastels

Monday, December 22, 2014

White is definitely not my color, so I can't rock the winter white trend. I wanted to try something new and little brighter then the large amount of black I've been wearing lately so I decided to wear pastels instead of white. It was fun pulling out some of my more summery things and the pastels really brightened up my outfit!! Happy Monday XO
Glasses: These are my newest frames from The View on Elm and I absolutely adore them! I am so excited to incorporate them into my wardrobe in the new year, Pearls: I have never really been a pearl girl, but this necklace from J.Crew has been invaluable in my wardrobe! I wear it all of the time, Sparkly Necklace: This was originally from Kate Spade, but I really love this one from BaubleBar too, Shirt: I love chambray and I have almost worn this one from J.Crew to death, Jacket: I love this color and this jacket is great for adding a little pop of color to a nice outfit, Belt: I love this belt from Anthropologie because it is silver and brown so very easy to wear with everything, Pants: Having one pair of nice dress pants has been great for work and sprucing up an outfit. These from J.Crew are a great option, Shoes: I was only a member of ShoeMint for a short time, but these shoes are so perfect for any outfit! Arm Candy: yes, I actually call my jewelry my arm candy :) In order it's from David Yurman, Alex and Ani, Fossil, BaubleBar, Lily and Laura, The View on Elm, Gorjana, and JewelMint

Mixing Metals

Sunday, December 21, 2014

Hello all! School has finally finished for the semester and I have actually had two seconds to breath this weekend! I was recently on Invaluable.com going through their rings and decided to choose one of their rings and design an outfit around it. I haven't ever done a post like this, so I was a little skeptical whether it would work at first, but after checking out their rings (here), I thought this would be so much fun! Anyways, here is the ring I picked. I am currently all about mixing metals, textures, and materials to create interesting looks and this ring fit right into that! I absolutely love the design because it is so unusual and different from anything I wear. I was really inspired by the different textures and materials, so I tried to incorporate that into my outfit too. I would definitely check out Invaluable, because they had some really cool pieces on there! More posts coming soon and happy holidays! XO
